Register for the MS-CC Annual Meeting Student Workshop

As a student in our community interested in research and/or technology, your growth and progress matter. The 2026 MS-CC Annual Meeting Student Workshop is for you. These carefully curated sessions will provide insight into research tools and career development tips. Whether you’re navigating your first job search, preparing a paper submission, or exploring all the community offers, you’ll walk away with support, guidance, and connections. 

Registration Required: You may register by completing the Student Workshop Registration Form. We will then add the workshop to your agenda in the Cvent app. This program is for students who already have an approved registration for the MS-CC Annual Meeting.

DAY 1: WEDNESDAY, MAY 27

Wednesday kicks off with four sessions spanning career development, research strategy, and hands-on computing. Come ready to learn and connect.

• Session 1: The Professional Future of CI/AI Professionals

  Begin your experience with an inspiring look at where the AI and CI research field is headed and where you’ll fit in. Hear from experts about emerging opportunities, in-demand skills, and career paths that may be of interest to you!

• Session 2: Career Development Lunch & Learn

  Grab a seat at the table with fellow students and Internet2 HR professionals for an honest and relaxed discussion about navigating the job search. This is your chance to ask real questions and receive constructive feedback.

• Session 3: Crack the Code: Understanding the Review Process for a Successful Paper/Poster

  Ever wondered what makes a research poster or paper submission stand out? This session demystifies the review process and offers practical tips and insider insights to help you craft compelling submissions.

• Session 4: From Classroom to Compute Cluster: How the Anvil Supercomputer Is Powering Student Success and Workforce Development

  Experience firsthand how high-performance computing influences the development of future professionals. This session highlights the Anvil Supercomputer and examines how access to advanced computing resources is revolutionizing student research and preparing students for their careers.

  After the student-focused sessions, you will join the greater MS-CC community for Lightning Talk presentations and an opportunity for discussion with the Lightning Talks presenters in the Lightning Talks deep dive.

DAY 2: THURSDAY, MAY 28 

You will have the opportunity to select the workshops, breakout sessions, and informal discussions that interest you!

 At the end of the day on Thursday, from 4:30 – 6:00 pm, there will be LinkedIn & Resume Reviews for students, conducted by Internet2 HR.  Bring your current resume and LinkedIn profile for personalized feedback from professionals in the field. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to get expert input before you hit the job market.
