The Minority Serving – Cyberinfrastructure Consortium (MS-CC) is pleased to welcome Netta Caligari as our new director of community engagement. Many in our community have already worked with her in her recent consulting role supporting the 2025 MS-CC Annual Meeting. We are honored to now have her officially join the team as a staff member.
Netta brings extensive experience in higher education, nonprofit tech, and public-interest digital infrastructure. Most recently, she served as community lead at West Arete, where she collaborated with dozens of colleges, universities, and research organizations to strengthen outreach strategies, build trust-based relationships, and elevate community storytelling.
Before that, she served as the InCommon community success manager at Internet2, supporting national engagement for identity and access management communities by facilitating peer-led programs and inclusive collaboration spaces. One example was her collaboration with West Arete on the CAMPfire app, a custom-built, accessible social platform designed for InCommon’s virtual BaseCAMP conference. The app expanded access and made it easier for all community members, including those using assistive technology, to participate fully.

Earlier in her career, Netta worked in advancement and engagement roles at Colorado State University, where she led multi-channel campaigns and helped institutions deepen relationships through values-driven outreach.
Netta is committed to creating environments where every voice is valued and supported. She brings empathy, attentive listening, and a genuine desire for helping others succeed. These values are at the heart of MS-CC’s mission to build a people-first cyberinfrastructure community among minority-serving institutions.

Please join us in giving Netta a warm welcome! You can reach out directly to say hello at jcaligari@internet2.edu. She’s eager to hear your ideas, listen to your stories, and collaborate on the future we are building together.
We look forward to the insight and energy Netta will bring to MS-CC’s community-first initiatives.
