MS-CC Welcomes Interns Selected for the 2025 Undergraduate Summer Research Internship Program

Fourteen outstanding students, representing 10 HBCUs, have been accepted into the MS-CC’s 10-week paid undergraduate summer research internship program. They were selected from a competitive pool of more than 140 applicants.

“A huge congratulations to our 2025 Undergraduate Summer Research Program interns!” said MS-CC Senior Program Manager Alexia Jones. “We’re so excited to welcome you to the MS-CC community and experience the planet resilient, cyberinfrastructure (CI) emerging research that you all will do this summer.”

The interns kicked off their summer at the MS-CC Annual Meeting last month in Nashville.

The 2025 Undergraduate Summer Research Internship will take place at Fisk University in collaboration with Meharry Medical College through August 8, 2025.

Students will work with faculty mentors on cutting-edge research while learning to apply computational and data-intensive approaches. Their internship experience also includes “field trips” designed especially for them, including attending the PEARC25 Conference in Columbus, Ohio next month.

Femi Adebisi, 2024 MS-CC intern and recent graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, offered his well wishes to this year’s interns and this advice for taking full advantage of their summer internship: “Good luck to the MS-CC 2025 interns! Make it fun, and take this opportunity to network and build your community.”

Throughout the summer, we’ll share updates on the 2025 Undergraduate Summer Research Internship Program via LinkedIn

The 2025 Undergraduate Summer Student Internship is funded by National Science Foundation award #2234326.
