MS-CC Workshop on Science DMZ and Networking for All
Join us in Minneapolis! The MS-CC is hosting a Science DMZ and Networking for All workshop on Monday, Sept. 18, in Minneapolis during the 2023 Internet2 Technology Exchange (TechEX23) conference. This workshop will be an introduction to open-source tools, networking terminology, and hands-on learning. A basic understanding of computer networks is required.

The workshop is facilitated by the Cyberinfrastructure Lab of the University of South Carolina and made possible thanks to support and funding from the NSF’s Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure under awards #2137123 and #2234326.

Funding Support Available
The MS-CC is providing funding for up to 25 faculty, students, and IT staff from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and tribal colleges and universities (TCUs) who are part of the MS-CC community. Application is closed.
The funding will cover the registration fees for the TechEX 101 working meeting, Science DMZ and Networking for All workshop, and TechEX23 conference, hotel stay at the Hilton Minneapolis, and airfare to Minneapolis.
The MS-CC will notify the successful applicants and provide additional information on how to register and book their travel no later than Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

- Join us for the TechEX 101 session on Monday for lunch and set yourself up for workshop success.
- Attend the Science DMZ and Networking for All workshop on Monday afternoon, which is being facilitated by the Cyberinfrastructure Lab of the University of South Carolina.
- Attend the TechEX welcome reception on Monday from 5-6:30 p.m. CT.
- Choose from over 100 technical talks on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday across five tracks:
- Advanced Networking
- Cloud Technology
- Identity and Access Management
- Information Security
- Research Engagement and Support
- Attend the MS-CC panel presentation on Wednesday at 1:40 p.m. CT.
- Join MS-CC and Internet2 leadership, along with fellow MS-CC participants, for a private reception on Wednesday, September 20 from 6:15 – 8:15 p.m. CT.
- Consider attending InCommon’s annual gathering of the identity and access management (IAM) community. Thursday’s Advanced CAMP unconference agenda is crowd-sourced on-site and designed to facilitate energetic breakout discussions on what matters most to the IAM community.
