The Minority Serving – Cyberinfrastructure Consortium (MS-CC) is offering the Internet2 Cloud Learning and Skills Sessions (CLASS) Essentials training program to faculty, IT staff, and students starting in January 2024.

The CLASS Essentials virtual training is free and available to MS-CC participants from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and tribal colleges and universities (TCUs). Participants will follow along with materials that are open-source and made available through Github.

To learn more about the Internet2 CLASS Essentials training program for the MS-CC community, watch Amanda Tan, CLASS Program Manager, present during the MS-CC October All Hands Meeting.

The Internet2 CLASS Essentials training program aims to get you from Zero-to-Cloud in four hours. The only prerequisite for CLASS training is that you have very basic knowledge of Unix commands and have access to a Unix-shell on a laptop/computer during the virtual training.

Three Reasons to Take CLASS Essentials with MS-CC

  1. Gain practical insights and skills in leveraging cloud resources to accelerate computational processes.
  2. Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively compute, provision storage, and construct research workflows within a cloud computing environment.
