What is the MS-CC Undergraduate Summer Research Internship?

The MS-CC Undergraduate Summer Research Internship is a 10-week, paid summer research experience hosted in Nashville, Tennessee, in partnership with Meharry Medical College. The program is designed to provide undergraduates with hands-on research opportunities, professional development, and mentorship in a collaborative academic environment.

What kind of research will I be doing?

Interns will engage in research projects aligned with the missions of Meharry Medical College. Projects may span a variety of disciplines, with a focus on areas relevant to minority-serving institutions and cyberinfrastructure. How do I apply?

Required Materials: You will be asked to submit a resume, transcripts, a personal statement, and a letter of recommendation. Be prepared to provide documentation of U.S. citizenship if selected.

When is the application deadline?

Are international students eligible?

No, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this internship. Documentation will be required if you are selected.

Is housing provided?

Details about housing arrangements will be provided to selected participants. Typically, summer research programs offer on-campus housing or assistance in securing accommodations. Please note, depending on availability, housing locations may change throughout the internship period. Additionally, please note that at the PEARC26 conference, interns will be expected to share a hotel room with another intern.

Is this program open to only Juniors and Seniors?

No, any currently enrolled undergraduate student who has completed at least one year of an undergraduate degree program may apply.
